July Mountain Trout Fly Special
Many trout in our mountain streams feed heavily on the green sedge (Rhyacophila) caddisflies from spring to fall but especially very heavily in July. The larva (known as the green rock worm) is easy for our trout to catch because unlike many caddis he does not build a protective case. These caddis like the fast well oxygenated water which is found in the riffles and right below them.
