We are catching some nice smallmouth bass now by fishing deeply in the slow sections of the smallmouth bass rivers. The Murray's Heavy Black Hellgrammite size 4, Murray's Olive Marauder size 6 and Murray's Magnum Darter Streamer size 4 are all very effective. Fish these very slowly by stripping them six inches every twenty seconds. Excellent water on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is downstream from access point #5 (Chapman's Landing). Excellent water on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is access point #11 (Seakford).
