Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report--April 23, 2018

Many mountain trout streams in the Blue Ridge, Smokies, and Appalachians are producing great fishing on the excellent March Brown mayfly hatch. If you come into these streams off the Skyline Drive or Blue Ridge Parkway you will get better water levels.

Both the March Brown Dry size 14 and the Mr. Rapidan Parachute Dry size 14 are effective. The Blue Quill Dry size 16 is great for those trout you spot feeding in the back eddies. The March Brown Nymph size 12 is great as a searching pattern if you don't see feeders.
