Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - August 21, 2018

Those trout you see feeding on the surface now are often feeding on small Leaf Hoppers. In many cases you will actually see the trouts' rise form before you see the real insect because these small insects often float low-flat on the surface. The Murray's Dark Stonefly size 16 and Murray's Bronze Stonefly are good matches for the Leaf Hopper. Use them to fish for the rising trout as well as to cover the water.
