Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - January 15, 2020
Share
Each year I don't believe it until I see them. I'm referring to the adult little black stoneflies I see sitting along the snow banks beside the trout streams. Then as I look closely at the slow sections on the sides of the streams I see trout rising to feed on the naturals. These trout are very wary so I approach these trout on my hands and knees. Use a Murray's Dry Black Stonefly size 18 on a Murray's Classic 7.5ft 6X or 7X leader.
As the road conditions can quickly change in the mountains be sure to call the Park service at 540-999-3500, option 1, option 1 for the latest updates.
