The upper sections of the Mountain Trout Streams are fishable; however, the lower sections are too high for good fishing. Some of my customers are getting excellent action by fishing the small feeder brooks which enter the main mountain streams close to the top of the mountains off the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. Frequently, a short hike will bring you outstanding fishing. Productive dry flies now are the Murray's Sulphur size 16, Spirit of Pittsford Mills size 16, and Murray's Purple Dun size 16.
