Epeorus pleuralis nymph

Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report- March 19, 2018

Mr. Rapidan Bead Head Nymph, Mr. Rapidan Olive Soft Hackle Nymph and Mr. Rapidan Parachute
The Epeorus pleuralis mayfly nymphs are becoming very active and you catch many trout by fishing the Mr. Rapidan Bead Head Nymph size 12 or the Mr. Rapidan Olive Soft Hackle Nymph size 12 upstream dead drift on the Murray's Trout Nymph 9 foot 5X Leader. From noon until dusk you can catch many trout on the Mr. Rapidan Parachute size 14 as the duns hatch. I do very well fishing the small feeder streams in the heads of the streams at the water levels we have now, both in the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park.
