Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - March 4, 2021
Share
As the streams become warm the nymphs get active and the trout feed heavily upon them. Good nymphs for this time of year are the Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 14, Murray's Caddis Larva size 14, and Mr. Rapidan Bead Head Nymph size 14. You can fish these upstream dead drift or by swing nymphing them in the deep pools. Keep in mind that we still have some heavy runoff from snow melting and recent rains so you will get your best fishing by coming in off the Skyline Drive to the upper reaches of the streams. Some of the lower sections of the streams are still carrying to much water to fish.
