Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - Update May 31, 2018

The heavy rains have caused the streams in the central and southern sections of the Shenandoah National Park to be too high for good fishing. At this time, you will get your best fishing by fishing the streams in the northern section and coming into them off the Skyline Drive. We will keep you updated as the conditions change. We are getting the best Little Yellow Stonefly Hatch we have had in many years. Since the trout are on the lookout for these flies, you can put a Murray's Dry Little Yellow Stonefly size 16 or a Standard Little Yellow Stonefly size 16 on a 6x Classic Leader with a Murray''s Little Stonefly Nymph size 16 on a 24 inch 6x dropper below it and catch several trout in each pool.
