Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - May 7, 2020

There are many March Brown Duns hatching now with great numbers of nymphs moving along the stream bottom. There are also two other Stenonema mayflies hatching now and the trout feed well on all of them. The Mr. Rapidan Parachute Dry size 14 is very effective when all of these flies are hatching. You can use this fly to go one on one with rising trout or to just cover the water if you don't see rising trout.

The Shenandoah National Park officials are working on a plan as to when the Park might reopen.  We will keep you posted.  In the meantime the little native brook trout streams in the George Washington National Forest have had good fishing.
