Mountain Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - October 1, 2020

The brook trout will start spawning this month and this can usually last until December. Most of you already know that I do not fish the native brook trout steams in October, November, or December while the fish are spawning.  Most people do not recognize a spawning bed and one foot step can kill hundreds of eggs.  Therefore, I stay away from these streams in the fall so that I can enjoy the brookie fishing in the spring when the water levels and hatches are ideal. 

I will resume fishing reports on these streams once the fish are done spawning.
