The brook trout are starting to spawn so from now to December I do not recommend fishing the native brook trout streams. Most anglers believe it is best not to stress them during this time. Also after the trout have spawned one can easily step on the eggs in the beds. Two weeks after they spawn, the beds can become dusted over and it is difficult to discern the beds. One foot step can kill hundreds of eggs. If you let them rest this fall, then that will ensure plenty of brookies for next spring.
