Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - Update April 13, 2024

Update April 13, 2024 11a.m.The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is currently too high and muddy to fish. I expect it will be clearing and returning to normal levels by Tuesday April 16. The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is currently too high for good fishing.  I would still recommend the flies listed below once the muddy water starts to dissipate.

Posted April 10, 2024 The Murray's Heavy Hellgrammite size 6, Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder (black or olive) size 4 are working well on the Bright Butt 9ft 2X leader. On the shallow gravel bars use a Silver Outcast size 4 for the smallmouth chasing shiner minnows.
