Smallmouth Bass Streams: The smallmouth bass rivers are full now but the bank bays will be good in several days. The bank bays which are cut into the river banks by floods over the past years often hold some large bass. These bass feed in the deeper areas right where they meet the main currents in the river. A Scientific Anglers Sonar Sink Tip III Sinking Fly Line with a Murray's Fluorocarbon 6 foot 2X Sinking Line Leader helps me get the depth I need to catch these bass. The Murray's Magnum Hog Sucker Streamer size 4, Murray's Magnum Darter Streamer size 4 and Murray's Magnum Creek Chub Streamer size 4 are very effective here. Access point #1 (Route 661 off Route 11) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River and access point #12 (Good's Landing) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River both have many of these bank bays.
