Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report --July 13, 2019

Recommended Flies: My favorite tactic for fishing the tails of the pools for smallmouth with a Murray's Floating Chub or Dace Minnow is to wade up from the riffle below and fan my casts over all of the pool tail upstream. The Murray's Marauder, Olive size 6 and Murray's Crayfish size 6 have been working well on our guide trips and schools.

Stream Conditions:
The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is still slightly high and discolored. It is clearing more each day. I expect it to be clear and wadeable by Tuesday July 16 in the areas of Mount Jackson downstream to Woodstock.
The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and in great shape. You can good fishing by either wading or floating. For all public access, check out our marked map in the fly shop.
