Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - Update July 11, 2025

Update for July 11, 2025 The North Fork of the Shenandoah River this morning is murky in some areas but the levels are back to normal.  Fishable by either wading or floating.  The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is "full" but fishable. I would recommend floating but if you prefer to wade then just use caution with the extra flow. Some areas still have murky colored water.

With the murky colored water recommended flies include: Murray's Chartreuse Marauder size 6, Magnum Chartreuse Streamer size 4, Magnum Bluegill Streamer size 4, and Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder (pearl or olive) size 4.  Fish these as deeply as you possibly can along the stream bottom.  If needed, use some split shot or a Scientific Anglers Sonar Leader to help get your flies deep.
