Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - July 16, 2020

Posted by Harry Murray on

The drop off gravel bars leading away from the deep grassbeds along the banks are feeding stations for big bass. A very good tactic is to wade down the bank and cast a Murray's Heavy Shiner out into the deep water and strip it back up the drop off.

Other productive flies this week (per our customers and guides):  Murray's Olive Marauder size 6 and Murray's Crayfish size 6. Fish all of these flies on a Bright Butt 9ft 2X Leader.

The rivers are getting low and clear so be very carefully when wading so that you do not spook the fish.

We are still conducting guided float trips, Smallmouth Bass Schools, and Half Day Fly Fishing Lessons for summer 2020.
