Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - July 2, 2020

I have great success catching smallmouth bass on the Mr. Rapidan Skater in size 8 in the tails of the pools when I see the bass leaping to catch the adult damselfies and dragonflies as they fly low over the surface of the river. A foot long skating action every 10 seconds is ideal.   This week my guides have been doing well with the Murray's Marauder size 6 in olive, black, and pearl.

Both the North Fork and the South Fork of the Shenandoah River are clear and fishable.
