Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - June 24, 2026

Both the North Fork and South Fork of the Shenandoah River are clear and fishable. The rains this week helped a little bit. North Fork from Mount Jackson to Woodstock is best for wading. The South Fork is best for wading or floating in kayaks. Best time to fish is early morning and late evening or on cloudy days. Water temperatures are holding in the low 70's.

Hot Flies for this week:

  • Clouser Crayfish, Olive size 6
  • Shenk's White Streamer size 8
  • Murray's Olive Marauder, size 6 or 8
  • Rubber Leg Nymph, Brown size 8
  • Murray's Chugger, Frog size 4
  • Boss Bug Popper, Damsel or Frog size 4
  • Fish all of these on a Murray's Bright Butt 9ft 2X leader
