Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - June 27, 2019

Recommended Flies:  There is excellent bass fishing where they are feeding on shiner minnows around the aquatic grassbeds. I use the Silver Outcast size 4 where the water is less than 3 feet deep. In deeper water I use a Murray's Heavy Shiner size 6. Be sure to make your first cast around each grassbed so your fly lands close to the grass. Often the strike comes very quickly.

Stream Conditions:  The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable. There is excellent aquatic grassbed fishing upstream of access #1 on the North Fork. The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable. There is excellent aquatic grassbed fishing upstream from access #11 on the South Fork.   For all public access, check out our marked map in the fly shop.
