Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - May 23, 2026

Both the North Fork and South Fork of the Shenandoah River are currently high and muddy and not fishable.  This was at 9:30am on 5/23/26.   If you plan to go bass fishing within the next week, watch the levels.  Typically under 500CFS on the North Fork in Mount Jackson is suitable for wading.  Typically under 1000 CFS on the South Fork in Luray is suitable for wading.  I expect it is going to be at least the middle of next week before conditions improve depending on how much rain is received today.
