UPDATE- High Water May 29, 2025 10:00am
The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is high and muddy upstream from Woodstock, VA this morning. The high water will move through to Strasburg, VA tonight. (Predicted to crest at 1600cfs 5/30)
The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is high but in good shape for floating this morning. There is a lot of water in the river so wade carefully and don't take any chances. (Predicted to reach 1200cfs. on USGS Streamflow Gauge - 1000cfs is full for wading)
Depending on the amount of rain we receive tomorrow (Friday, May 30, 2025), the North Fork will be fishable upstream from Edinburg, VA tomorrow and the South Fork will be fishable by floating.
The level is high for wading safely but ideal for floating. Go with heavy flies or Sink Tip III fly lines and sinking leaders to get down through the extra water.
Follow the streamflow gauges for up to date information.
