Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 1, 2019

Recommended Flies: There is a good chance of catching some large bass in the deep pools in the rivers using a Murray's Magnum Hog Sucker, Magnum Darter, and Magnum Creek Chub all in size 4. Swim these slowly along the stream bottom by stripping them 2 inches every 10 seconds. The strikes are often very gentle so set the hook firmly.

 Stream Conditions:

The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable. The water levels are better since the rain showers yesterday. Be sure to bring your chest high waders and some gloves for these cool mornings. Downstream from access #3, #4, or #5 on the North Fork have been doing well.  Wade slow and fish deeply.

The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable. Downstream from access #12 (Good's Landing) and #13 (Foster's Landing) has been productive.  For all public access, check out our marked map in the fly shop.
