Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 26, 2019

The rivers are getting cold but if you want to try the bass fishing you can put your boat or kayak in at Chapman's Landing (#5) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River and fish the deep pockets on the 3 mile stretch down to the dam. We can't get around the dam so be prepared to motor or row back up to take out at Chapman's Landing. There is some deep slow water here and by fishing a Murray's Magnum Hog Sucker, Magnum Darter, or Magnum Creek Chub size 4 along the stream bottom on a fast sinking head fly line can often produce some large bass. The access #26 Massanutten on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is also good in the deep water.
