Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - October 3, 2019

Recommended Flies: The stream temperatures are higher than normal for this time of year but as the cooler weather moves in the stream temperatures will start dropping--prompting the bass to actively feed. We have been doing well on the Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder, Olive size 4, Murray's Heavy Black Hellgrammite size 4 and Shenk's White Streamer size 4. Fish all of these on a Bright Butt 9ft 2X Leader.

 Stream Conditions:

The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable. Downstream from access #4 on the North Fork has been doing well. Wade slow and carefully so you do not spook the fish.

The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is low, clear and fishable. Upstream and downstream from access #13 (Fosters) has been productive.  For all public access, check out our marked map in the fly shop.
