There are many large nymphs in the riffles in the delayed harvest and stocked trout streams. The rainbows are actively feeding on these nymphs right below the riffles. Some of my favorite large Eastern trout nymphs are the Murray's Road Kill (Skunk) size 8, Mr. Rapidan Soft Hackle (Olive) Nymph size 10 and Bitch Creek Nymph size 8. Fish these across stream below the riffles with a slow twitching action.
All of the local stocked trout streams are clear and fishable. Passage Creek in Fort Valley was stocked 3/5, Cub Run in Page County was stocked 3/10, Hawksbill Creek in Page County was stocked 3/11.
