Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - March 27, 2019

The recent high water has flushed many nymphs out of the riffles on these streams and the trout are feeding heavily upon them.

Stream Conditions:  All of the local stocked trout streams and delayed harvest areas including Passage Creek (Fort Valley) and Big Stoney Creek (Edinburg) are clear and fishable.

Recommended Flies: Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 12, Casual Dress Nymph size 12, and Murray's Skunk Roadkill Nymph size 8.  Cast these across stream right below the riffles and after they sink deeply swim them across the stream bottom by stripping them 4 inches every 6 seconds.

Recommended Gear: I am using a Classic 9ft 4X Leader with a 7 1/2ft to 9ft fly rod with a 4 to 6 weight fly line.
