Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - February 11, 2026
Share
Well it has been a few weeks since we posted a stream report basically because everything was frozen. The temperatures this week have thawed the ice on the stocked trout streams enough that some anglers are braving the icy banks to fish. Plan to fish areas that have natural springs and the fishing will be better. All of our local stocked trout streams are clear and fishable.
Recommended flies for this week:
- Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 12
- Mr. Rapidan Bead Head Nymph size 12
- Cress Bug size 14
- Olsens Blowtorch Barbless size 16
I would put the native brook trout fishing on hold for another few weeks as most of the streams are still covered with ice and dangerous to get into.
We are currently booking for Spring 2026 Mountain Trout Fly Fishing Schools and Guided Trips.
