Native Brook Trout Streams Report - The native brook trout streams are holding up well because of the extra rain. In the Shenandoah National Park, plan to come into the streams from the upper reaches of the streams off the Skyline Drive. The lower boundaries are still carrying some extra water so these areas are tough to fish. Murray's Flying Beetle size 16, Mr. Rapidan Ant size 16, Mr. Rapidan Dry size 16, Tungsten Jigged Hares Ear Nymph size 16, Perdigon Nymph size 16 are recommended flies for this week.
Little Stoney Creek west of Edinburg is best by coming in from FS92. The lower section is carrying extra water. Use the same flies as above.
Stocked Trout Streams Report - Big Stoney Creek west of Edinburg is clear and fishable. Passage Creek in Fort Valley is a little high and discolored. Murray's Marauder in chartreuse or olive size 10, Copper John Chartreuse Nymph size 14, Barbless French Bomb size 14 are recommended flies for this week.
We will post updates as the conditions change.
