Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 12, 2025

Good News--Passage Creek in Fort Valley was stocked today 11/12/25. Big Stoney Creek west of Edinburg was stocked last Thursday. All of the local stocked trout streams are low and clear but fishable. Be stealthy!!!
Recommended flies for this week:
- Rubber Leg Nymph, Brown size 8
- Mr. Rapidan Soft Hackle, Brown size 14 (can be used as a dropper below the rubber leg nymph above)
- Blue Wing Olive Dry size 16 or 18 (use when you see rising trout)
- Mr. Rapidan Dry size 16 or 18 (use when you see rising trout)
- Copper John, Zebra size 16
- Perdigon Nymph, French size 16
Fish these on a Murray's Classic 9ft Leader.
If you need help with access, stop by the fly shop or check the VA DWR website for their map.
The wild brook trout are still spawning so I don't usually go to these streams until after the first of the year.
