Spring Bass Essentials: Gear Up for the Early Season
Spring in the Shenandoah Valley and across the country presents a unique challenge for bass anglers. As water temperatures rise and bass move from wintering holes to pre-spawn staging areas, having the right gear is the difference between a slow day and a banner outing. Our Spring Bass Essentials collection is curated to help you navigate high water and deeper pools with confidence.
"Murray’s Method" for Spring Success: Early season bass are often holding in deeper cuts and along river-crossing limestone ledges. To reach these fish, we recommend a "heavy and slow" approach. Dead drift nymphs through the cuts and along drop offs where slow water meets fast. Swing and slowly strip streamers through areas where gravel bars drop off into deeper water.
