Bass Streams Fishing Report Update June 15, 2025

Update June 15, 2025

Happy Fathers Day 2025

North Fork of the Shenandoah: The Shenandoah Valley received between .50" and 2.25" of rain yesterday and last night.  The North Fork of the Shenandoah is fishable at this morning from Edinburg, VA North (downstream).  There is a lot of water making its way to downstream.  This water will be in Mt. Jackson by noon.  Roughly 3000cfs is making its way downstream which will cause the North Fork to go over several low water bridges crossing the river in Shenandoah County, VA.

South Fork of the Shenandoah: The South Fork is coming up, it is still fishable downstream from Shenandoah, VA this morning.  The water will continue to slowly rise through tomorrow if we don't receive any more rain.  Rain is in the forecast so stay tuned.  USGS Streamflow Gauge Luray, VA

Watch the stream flow gauges and pay attention to changing water levels if you plan to fish or float in the next few days.  Be safe out there.

As for the fishing, the Smallmouth Bass are ready to feed.  We have the challenge of getting our flies down to them.  Use a Sonar Titan Sink Tip III fly line or a Sonar Leader Type 6 with a 1/0 Murdich Minnow, #4 Murray's Madtom or #4 Skulpin Bugger.  If you're lucky, you will get some top water action in the protected eddies and slow stretches with popping bugs.
