Skulpin Buggers are tied with sculpin helmets which helps them sink deeply. The soft material used in these flies makes them look alive in the river. These are ideal for deep streamer fishing for large bass and trout where sculpin minnows are found which is nearly every non-tropical stream and river in the world.
Brown- Fish these as a real sculpin below the riffles with slow line hand stripping action.
Olive- These can be fished to mimic the dace minnows along the river banks and in the tails of the pools.
Black- By fishing these with a slow rod lifting and dropping action you can make them behave in the undulating action of the natural leech upon which all bass feed.
We recommend casting these flies on a 6 weight fly rod or larger.
