Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - October 30, 2018

Localized rains have raised some of these streams slightly and dislodged many nymphs. The trout are feeding heavily upon them just below the riffles and down into the upper sections of the pools. Both the Bullpasture and Big Stoney have many miles of this water. 

Effective flies are the Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 12, Murray's Caddis Larva size 14 and Mr. Rapidan Olive Soft Hackle size 12. Fishing these across stream with a slow twitching action is very effective.
