Murray's Heavy Shiner Streamer, Shenk's White Streamer and Murray's Heavy Chub Streamer Smallmouth Bass Streams: In addition to the back eddies I mentioned last week, we are catching some nice size smallmouth bass in the deep pockets downstream of the river-crossing ledges. Access point #1 (Route 661 off Route 11) and access point #3 (Burnshire Bridge) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River have much of this type water. Shenandoah Silver Ghost Simple Streamer, Murray's Caddis Larva and Murray's Olive Magic Caddis Pupa Delayed Harvest and Stocked Trout Streams: The browns and rainbows in these streams are feeding heavily on both minnows and natural nymphs. A very effective tactic is to attach a Shenandoah Silver Ghost Simple Streamer size 10 to a Murray's Classic 7.5 foot 4X Leader. Then attach a Murray's Caddis Larva size 14 or a Murray's Olive Magic Caddis Pupa size 14 to a twenty four piece of 5X tippet material coming off the bend of the streamer hook with an improved clinch knot. Trout Fishing Report -

Mountain Trout Streams: We are getting some good Brachycentrus caddis hatches now and we are catching many trout on the Mr. Rapidan Olive Delta Wing Caddis size 14. A productive tactic is to fish a Murray's Olive Magic Caddis Pupa size 14 on a twenty four inch 5X dropper below the dry caddis to each rising trout and to cover the riffles in the head of each pool. Smallmouth Bass Streams: We are catching some large bass in the back eddies on both the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River. Access points #18 (Meem's Bottom) and #19 (Covered Bridge) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing good. Access points #11 (Seakford) and #13 (Foster's Landing) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing good.
