Dubbing Wax is an essential tool in every fly tyer's kit. Applied to your thread or fingertips, it gives dubbing the grip it needs to spin into a tight, tapered body — producing cleaner, more durable flies with every wrap.
How to use:
- Apply a small amount of wax to your tying thread or fingertips
- Pinch a small amount of dubbing and spin it in one direction to form a tight torpedo shape
- Wind the dubbed thread onto the hook shank to build the body
Works with natural and synthetic dubbing materials. A must-have for nymphs, dry flies, and wet flies alike. This item is featured in our Basic Fly Tying Kit and is used frequently in our Fly Tying Classes.
