Orvis Clearwater 906-4 Fly Rod & Reel Outfit | 9' 6-Weight Trout & Bass

The Orvis Clearwater 906-4 is a versatile 9' 6-weight fly rod that works well when you need more power than a 5-weight without moving up to a heavier bass rod. Its medium-fast action provides a good balance of easy casting, accuracy, and line control, making it an excellent choice for larger trout streams, streamer fishing, and smallmouth bass.

At Murray's Fly Shop, we like the 6-weight when anglers want one outfit that can handle a variety of fishing. It is well suited to casting streamers, heavier nymph rigs, and bass poppers and streamers up to about size 6. The 9' length also gives you good line control for longer casts and mending on larger rivers.

Why Choose the Orvis Clearwater 9' 6-Weight?

• Versatile 6-Weight: A useful all-around weight for larger trout, streamer fishing, and smallmouth bass.
• Medium-Fast Action: The rod loads easily while providing the recovery and power needed for longer casts and larger flies.
• Large Trout Streams: The 9' length provides good reach and line control when fishing larger rivers and streams.
• Smallmouth Bass: Well suited to moderate-sized poppers, streamers, and other bass flies.
• Streamer Fishing: The 6-weight has enough power to cast larger trout streamers and weighted flies.
• Good Beginner Rod: The medium-fast action is easy to learn with while providing enough performance to remain useful as your casting improves.
• Four-Piece Design: The rod breaks down easily for travel and storage.
