The Winston Pure 7'6" 3-weight 4pc rod is very versatile for small streams which are high gradient. Many of these type streams are found in the Crazy Mountains in Montana and in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. The 7'6" length helps us reach over the lip before us on our presentation casts while still being short enough to avoid overhanging tree limbs. One can get very accurate presentations with this rod from 10 feet to 50 feet with flies from size 24 up to size 8.
