Smallmouth Bass Streamers - Heavy Black Hellgrammite, Magnum Darter, Olive Marauder - Murray's Fly Shop Smallmouth Bass Fly Fishing Guide - Virginia SHenandoah Valley
Murray's Heavy Black Hellgrammite, Murray's Olive Marauder and Murray's Magnum Darter Streamer.  Switching over to a fast sinking 200 grain head fly line can help you catch many large bass in the deep water (Winter holding areas)

I enjoy the challenge of trying to catch large bass now. In order to give myself an advantage, I use a fast sinking head fly line such as the Scientific Anglers Sonar Sink 30 Warm Tip Fly line 200 grain which sinks at four to eight ips in the first thirty feet of the line. Good flies now are the Murray's Olive Marauder size 6, Murray's Heavy Black Hellgrammite size 8 and Murray's Magnum Darter Streamer size 4. The deep water below access point #4 (Near Dr. Truban's Vet Clinic) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is very productive. The deep water out from access point #11 (Seakford) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is very productive.
